Meet finalists to represent Ukraine at Eurovision 2018

Ukraine has chosen its last three acts to compete in the final to represent Ukraine at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal, in May.

Ukrainian singers Melovin, Tayanna and Kadnay band who were selected during the second semi-final on Feb. 17 will join Ukrainian bands Laud, The Erised, and Vilna in the final that will take place on Feb. 24.

During Ukraine’s Eurovision national selection competition, 18 acts, including bands and singers, performed their songs over two semi-finals.

Kostyantyn Bocharov known as Melovin received the eight-point score from the jury, while he got the highest score from the audience. Bocharov is a winner of Ukrainian 2015 X-Factor show.

Ukrainian singer Tayanna (Tetyana Reshetnyak) was praised by the jury with the highest nine-point score. She also received a seven-point score from the audience. It will be the second Eurovision final for Tayanna who lost to O’Torvald rock band in the 2017 final. O. Torvald, which represented Ukraine at Eurovision 2017 in Kyiv, placed 24th position out of 26 competitors in the Eurovision final.

The third semi-finalist – Ukrainian pop-funk band Kadnay received the seven-point score from the jury, while the audience granted them an eight-point mark. Kadnay was formed in 2012 and decided to try themselves at the 2017 Eurovision selection competition.
