The President also stressed that if a real wall was built, it would be another “state” that Ukraine would not recognize.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that the construction of the so-called wall on the border with the occupied territory of Donbas is the last and undesirable option of resolving the conflict in the east of the country.

On The Right to Power on 1+1 TV channel, the Head of State reminded that during the recent meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, five plans for the reintegration of Donbas and the return of our territories had been approved.

“For me, this (building a wall – ed.) is not a plan B. It is a plan “the last letter”. This is the last plan. I really would not like us to implement this plan, because this “wall” – I spoke frankly about that – it is already there, that is, we need to decide how to return people, their mentality, their understanding that they are Ukrainians. This is very important,” the President said, answering the question when the authorities can implement plan B – the construction of the so-called wall.

The Head of State emphasized that it was necessary to move forward and look for ways to solve the problem. “We are not going to wait five years, shoot and lose Ukrainians,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The President also stressed that if a real wall was built, it would be another “state” that Ukraine would not recognize.

“We have been elaborating these plans in detail. We understand that if there is a wall, we will need to create all conditions for Ukrainians in the temporarily occupied territories to come to us. Because then there will be not even another state behind the wall, but – sorry for such a word – another area with militants only,” he said.
