President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko underlined the threats for the Ukrainian state and recalled the lessons of a century-old history. At the meeting with the residents of Lviv, the Head of State said that during any elections, they always have an unmistakable feeling what choice is right for Ukraine.

“In 2014, war came to our home. Warriors protect the whole Ukraine. But everyone on the frontline knows: he has a home behind him… and his family, close people whom he defends. On the other side of the frontline, there is our home as well, which is still occupied by the Russian invader. And our duty is to make him leave by force, cleverness, pressure or cunning,” Petro Poroshenko noted.

“On the frontline, and I go there regularly, two weeks ago last time, you clearly realize: if we lose the state, trouble will come to every Ukrainian home. That is why we defend and fight for every house, we know that the loss of even a single Ukrainian house is a damage for the whole state,” he stressed.

At the same time, the President stressed that over the past five years, we had created the foundation of our own Ukrainian home and thanked everyone for creating reliable foundations of statehood based on the army, language and faith.

“In five most difficult years of modern history, we, Ukrainians, managed to preserve the state from the destruction carefully planned by our neighbor,” he added, emphasizing the importance of studying the lessons of our history and recalling century-old events.

“We have been preserving our unity for 5 years. We have protected Ukraine’s independence. We will return the entire Donbas and Crimea. We have formed a great pro-Ukrainian coalition that imposed severe sanctions against Russia and started providing weapons to us. Russia cannot beat us on the frontline, but it can undermine us from the inside. Hence, let us be vigilant and responsible,” the Head of State noted.
