Klitschko: Kyiv sees 863 new COVID-19 cases, 16 deaths over past day

Over on October 8, 863 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) disease have been recorded in Kyiv, 16 people died, mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko said.

“Some 863 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease per day in Kyiv. Some 13 people died. In total, during the pandemic, 5,516 people died from the coronavirus in Kyiv. And today there are 239,723 confirmed cases of the disease,” the mayor wrote on his Facebook page.

Some 481 women aged 18 to 95 years and 313 men aged 18 to 95 years fell ill. Also, 35 girls from five months to 17 years old and 34 boys from four to 17 years old contracted the disease.

Some 104 patients with coronavirus and 176 people with suspected COVID-19 and pneumonia were hospitalized in Kyiv’s hospitals.

Some 186 people recovered over the past day. In total, 222,425 Kyiv residents overcame the coronavirus.
