President of Ukraine, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko took part in the operational-strategic meeting with the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Five years have passed since the beginning of the Russian aggression against our state. For 5 years, Ukraine has been defending its right to independence and civilizational choice, paying a high price,” the President emphasized.
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that the Ukrainian army had gained a huge experience over these 5 years. “And we will never forget the volunteers who were among the first to take the hit in 2014,” the President said.
“One of the main conclusions that we all, as a society, must make from the last five years is the unconditional strategic course of Ukraine towards NATO and the European Union. Recently, as you know, the relevant changes have been introduced in the Constitution at my initiative. Ukraine in NATO is a guarantee of our security,” he said.
“There can be no discussion. We paid a very high price when we had to act decisively, but a smoke screen of multiple vectors and non-alignment was arranged,” he stressed.
