President urged the Ivano-Frankivsk RSA Head to draw up a plan of bridge repair and stressed the importance of construction of a garbage recycling plant

During his working trip to the Ivano-Frankivsk region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy heard the report of RSA Head Denys Shmygal.

When telling about socio-economic development, Denys Shmygal noted that 540 kilometers of roads had been repaired in the region in 2019. Bridges are being rebuilt. According to him, out of 1200 bridges in the region, 80% are in poor condition. The President urged the Ivano-Frankivsk RSA Head to develop a plan of bridge repair.

Also, Denys Shmygal reported that the Ivano-Frankivsk region had received five new ambulances as part of President Zelenskyy’s initiative to provide medical institutions in the regions with special transport.

According to the RSA Head, part of the funds from the State Regional Development Fund will be spent on the repair of kindergartens and schools. In particular, Denys Shmygal told the Head of State about the course of reconstruction of the school building in the village of Krasnoillya, Verkhovyna district.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed the necessity of allocating funding for this purpose.

“We need to find the money. If everything is rotten there, we have to completely rebuild it,” he said.

Also, 94 apartments for ATO/JFO participants were purchased in the region this year. The President suggested attracting investors to build houses for the heroes.

«Give the contractor a piece of land somewhere in the center, he will build his business and separately – housing for ATO participants, so that the whole house would be for them,” the President said.

The RSA Head also informed that the reconstruction of the airport in Ivano-Frankivsk was planned to be completed in two and a half years.

“We have started work on land inventory. We have already concluded an inventory contract and we will have completed it by March,” the RSA Head emphasized.

In addition, Denys Shmygal informed the President of the fight against illegal deforestation in the region and addressing environmental problems.

The Head of State, for his part, stressed the importance of building a waste recycling plant in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
