President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stresses that he respects voters who voted for him and for other candidates during the first round of presidential elections. At the same time, the Head of State considers it disgraceful to demonstrate disregard for candidates who did not reach the second round.

“My position is the following: debates are not a show. I believe that such a dismissive or frivolous treatment is disrespect for Yulia Tymoshenko as a politician who took third place. And, by the way, disrespect for her voters. More than 2.5 million people voted for Yulia Volodymyrivna, so that she is in the role Volodymyr Zelensky tries to cast her in,” Petro Poroshenko answered the question of the journalists about the proposal of presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky to invite Yulia Tymoshenko as a host of the debates between candidates.

“Voters must be respected. I am very grateful to those who voted for me on March 31, and I treat with great respect the voters of Yulia Tymoshenko,” the Head of State emphasized.

“By the way, I also respect those who voted for Volodymyr Zelensky – they are not indifferent, they expressed their opinion. I will do my utmost to persuade them to vote for me in the second round,” the President also said.

“But I consider such an attitude disgraceful,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.
