While a controversy surrounding the İstanbul results in Turkey’s local elections continues, an online video game has appeared featuring the popular opposition candidate’s so far inconclusive struggle to receive the mandate.

In the video game players control an animation of opposition candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu trying to get enough votes to close the gap between him and the candidate fielded by the government and achieve the mandate.

Players are required to gather 39 ballot boxes representing the 39 districts of İstanbul in order to get the mandate.

The game, titled “Mazbata Online,” is a satirical reference to the fact that İmamoğlu still hasn’t been given the mandate (mazbata) despite being the winner of the İstanbul election according to the unofficial results.

The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), whose candidate Binali Yıldırım lost to İmamoğlu by a narrow margin, has repeatedly objected to the İstanbul results, asking for recounts and even a new election.
