President commissioned the Government to extend the contract with Morozov Design Bureau of Kharkiv for the production of 45 armored personnel carriers

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy initiates consideration by the Cabinet of Ministers of the issue of extension of the contract for the production of 45 BTR-4E by O.O. Morozov Design Bureau of Kharkiv, which is a part of Ukroboronprom.

During a working trip to the Kharkiv region, Volodymyr Zelenskyy paid a visit to Ukroboronprom enterprises. In particular, the Head of State got himself acquainted with the progress of the execution of the state order for 45 BTR-4E by O.O. Morozov Design Bureau of Kharkiv. They were supposed to be produced in June this year.

The President was informed that due to the failure to meet the contract deadline, penalties on state guarantees could be imposed on the plant on November 15.

The Head of State set a task for the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to consider the issue of postponing the delivery of products.

“The state of Ukroboronprom enterprises is terrible. We need to meet and agree on an action plan. I commission to ensure the extension of the contract between the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and O.O. Morozov Design Bureau of Kharkiv concluded for the implementation of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of July 14, 2016 regarding the postponement of the final shipment date to August 31, 2020,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a meeting on the problematic issues of Ukroboronprom.

The decision will allow to complete the production of the first 12 armored personnel carriers in the near future. The rest of the armored personnel carriers should be ready by the end of August 2020.

In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited V.O. Malyshev Plant and got himself acquainted with the samples of military equipment manufactured at the plant. These include, in particular, the Oplot and Bulat tanks.

At the Kharkiv State Aviation Production Enterprise, the Head of State got himself acquainted with the production facilities of the final assembly department, examined samples of civilian and military transport equipment.
