President at the production of drilling equipment: Such companies that pay salaries, ensure exports and currency inflow should be protected

“We are one team. We will resolutely continue the healthcare reform,” President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko noted during a speech at the Medical Forum of Lviv region.

The Head of State stressed that the medical reform would raise the salary and prestige of the doctors. “I often visit the regions. And today, I see a medical worker who receives up to 7-9 thousand UAH. A doctor who has 2-2,5 thousand patients and receives a salary of 15 thousand, 17 thousand, 19 thousand UAH. This is what I wanted to achieve,” Petro Poroshenko said.

He emphasizes that part of the medical reform is the reform of rural medicine, because it is very important to have an opportunity to provide high-quality medical services in the countryside. For this purpose, a rural ambulatory should be equipped with the necessary equipment, vehicles. In addition, for the most qualitative provision of medical care, a broadband high-speed Internet should be established, which will enable to take advantage of telemedicine and receive consultations of doctors from specialized medical centers in the district, region or in the capital.

The President stressed that Ukraine’s movement to the European Union and NATO would be preserved. “To do this, it is necessary to carry out a large number of reforms. A great amount of work has already been done, but more needs to be done,” Petro Poroshenko noted. Among the high European living standards that Ukraine should achieve, he also mentioned the provision of high-quality medical services.

“And the fact that we know how to provide these services, that we have the best doctors is confirmed by the “hunting” for our doctors in Poland, Slovakia. They do not have to pass any tests, because the Ukrainian doctor is a seal of quality,” the President noted.

At the same time, the Head of State assured that Ukraine would provide proper working conditions for the doctors. “We are fighting for you. We will not give you up to anyone. We will do everything possible for the doctors who left to come back,” he added.

The President presented state awards to the medics.
