The government will inspect hospitals to be ready for the second wave of COVID-19 if it comes in the fall. At the same time, the situation with the spread of the virus is complicated worldwide, as evidenced by about 22 million infections and almost 800 thousand deaths. This was reported by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal at a traditional meeting chaired by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on preventing the spread of coronavirus disease.

The Prime Minister emphasized that that the key reasons of the spread of the disease in the west of Ukraine were weddings and religious events. The police and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine intensify work as regards the observance of quarantine measures by the citizens. At the moment, 114 thousand violations were detected during the use of the Diy Vdoma app.

“We should have a complex approach. People are tired of coronavirus not only in Ukraine, but also in the whole world. This is evidenced by the international experience. Fight against COVID-19 means cooperation between people and the state. Hence, we expect public understanding. As the state, we must do everything we can to curb coronavirus,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.

Additionally, Minister of the Interior Arsen Avakov informed that all people affected by the fires at the beginning of July in the Luhansk region had received payments and compensations. According to him, the police is holding operational and investigative work to determine the circumstances and perpetrators of the arson attack on the vehicle of the “Schemes” program.
