President of Ukraine restarted the National Anticorruption Policy Council

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy updated the composition of the National Anticorruption Policy Council. This was stipulated by Decree of the President of Ukraine “Issues of the National Anticorruption Policy Council” signed on June 25.

The National Council includes representatives of expert NGOs, business associations, heads of anti corruption and other specialized agencies. In particular, leaders of Transparency International Ukraine, European Business Association, American Chamber of Commerce, public organizations, Center for Combating Corruption and Center for Political and Legal Reforms will work in the Council.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ruslan Riaboshapka, one of the best experts in the fight against corruption in Ukraine, chaired the Council.

For the first time, the official status of observers in the Council was received by representatives of international organizations and diplomatic institutions that provide assistance to Ukraine in combating corruption. Thus, representatives of the World Bank, United States Agency for International Development, United Nations Development Program, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine became observers in the Council.

“The National Anticorruption Policy Council will be the center of developing solutions in the fight corruption. We will respond promptly to the drawbacks of anticorruption legislation or institutions and initiate appropriate decisions. The Council should also coordinate the work of the state bodies and non-governmental organizations in achieving the results in the fight against corruption expected by society. Unfortunately, the previous composition of the Council has not been holding sessions for almost three years. Our first meeting will be held in the near future,” Ruslan Riaboshapka said.
