A number of Turkish media outlets published the election findings of a fake polling company without fact-checking the pollster ahead of local elections on March 31.

A Twitter account under the name @KomsarNet revealed the fact that media outlets in Turkey published fake polling graphics without even checking if such a polling company exists.

T24, Diken, Yeni Akit, Ensonhaber and other news websites shared the “findings” of a fake company named Komsar. The Komsar Twitter account tweeted that their aim was to expose the fact that many media outlets in Turkey do not abide by even the most basic principles of journalism.

Komsar sarcastically said the media outlets which published their fake findings should have first checked out the profile information on their Twitter account.
