During his working visit to Ternopil region, President Petro Poroshenko took part in the prayer for peace in Ukraine at the Archbishopric Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Ternopil. Addressing the priests and believers, Petro Poroshenko noted that it is a great honor for him to be here in this temple today.

“I am grateful to the residents of Ternopil for a joint prayer for our people, for its unity and for the well-being of Ukraine. I am very grateful to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church of Ukraine for their constant prayer for Ukraine, for their great missionary and chaplain activities. Because chaplains on the frontline, who bear the Word of God, play no less important role than those who defend the Ukrainian land from the aggressor with weapons in their hands,” the President emphasized.

“I thank God for the great help he has provided to the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian nation. I thank all those who prayed for the Tomos of the Ukrainian church, which removes the Russian yoke from the Ukrainian church and asserts the spiritual foundation for our proud nation,” the Head of State added.
