“Today, this is no less important than other tasks that ensure the European and Euro-Atlantic vector of our country’s movement. I urge everyone not to fall for provocations and to protect our choice,” President Petro Poroshenko said on Priamyi TV channel answering the question concerning the assurances of the leaders of the security forces regarding the peaceful and democratic nature of the election process.

Petro Poroshenko assured that he would “take all the measures and use all the powers of the President in order to conduct fair elections, to ensure a transparent and fair electoral process, which would be trusted by Ukrainians; a process that would be absolutely convincing for our partners and meet the democratic standards”.

“I want to address separately the heads of the law enforcement agencies, the police, the Security Service and the National Guard. Today, this is no less important task than that of our soldiers who defend the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of our state on the front. I trust you, I rely on you and I am sure that everything will be fine. Ukraine will be united, democracy in Ukraine will be protected and the European and Euro-Atlantic vector will prevail. It all depends, dear Ukrainians, on you. We will not ask the permission of Moscow, of the Kremlin, of Putin anymore,” Petro Poroshenko stressed.

“When someone from the Russian Federation thinks that after they failed to invade, split and destroy our country on the frontline, they are now hoping to do so through the elections. And yet, when they cannot destabilize the situation inside the country, they will try to disrupt the elections, to organize clashes and bloodshed,” the Head of State emphasized.

“I want to thank the Ukrainians for their responsibility and prudence. And these columns of the so-called radicals, who tried to organize bloodshed in Ukraine, are not a Ukrainian scenario. No one will allow that,” the President said.
