President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the United States of America for unblocking military assistance to Ukraine and noted excellent relations between the two countries.

“As for the relations with the United States, I want to thank the U.S. for the continued support of Ukraine, our sovereignty, our territorial integrity,” the Head of State said at the 16th Yalta European Strategy meeting in Kyiv.

The President of Ukraine said he had talks with US President Donald Trump. “He always greeted me with certain victories. Then, you heard, the United States temporarily blocked $ 250 million in military assistance to Ukraine. But we didn’t react until we had another result. Now I can say that we have excellent relations with the USA, because now instead of the blocked 250 we will have 140 and 250 (million – ed.). So I think we are moving in the right direction and we have proper relations with our strategic partner, the United States of America. I am grateful to them for their help,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The President is hopeful that his personal meeting with Donald Trump will take place in the near future – in September.
