President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko emphasizes that he heard those Ukrainians who supported him in the first round of elections and those who voted against him. At the same time, the Head of State stresses that for the next five years he has a clear vision of what needs to be done, taking into account the lessons of the past five years. He told this on Ukraine TV channel.

Answering the question how he will persuade the viewers who didn’t vote for him at the Olimpiyskyi stadium during the debate, the President replied: “There will be Ukrainians. There will be citizens of Ukraine”. The Head of State stresses that the key position is not only what will be said about the future, but also what conclusions were made.

The President recalled that on March 31, immediately after the publication of the results of exit polls, he stressed: “I heard both those who voted for me and those who did not vote for me. And this was probably one of the hardest lessons in my life. This is a very strong incentive for me to analyze all five years, including all the mistakes that have been made. And for the next five years I have learned this lesson very well”.

Answering the question what may change, Petro Poroshenko stressed: “The key issues will be firmly changed. There will be significant changes in the team. There will be a large number of new young people”.

He noted that he was now analyzing a large number of proposals and they would be presented.

“Reforms that will ensure economic growth, welfare and overcoming poverty will be firmly continued,” the President added.

“The defense capabilities of the state will be substantially strengthened,” he said.

Petro Poroshenko stressed that economic growth and our movement towards the European Union would be dramatically accelerated. “In December, NATO members will be invited to sign the NATO Membership Action Plan,” the President said.

The Head of State stressed that Ukrainians, who are currently held in prisons in Moscow as prisoners of war, would be returned home.

“We will make a lot of steps that will significantly strengthen peace, because it will be my first priority now,” he said.

Petro Poroshenko informed that he would make a visit to Berlin. “Today there is a statement by our partners that the Normandy format will be restored urgently,” he added.

“We have a lot of things to do. We know exactly where, when and how to move,” the President said.
