As part of the working visit to Zhytomyr region, President Petro Poroshenko visited the 95th separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the military camp in Zhytomyr, the Head of State got himself acquainted with the implementation of measures for the construction, reconstruction and overhaul of the military objects of the brigade in 2018.

Petro Poroshenko inspected the premises of one of the four new dormitories and talked with the soldiers who would live here. Also, the President visited the dining room and had a dinner with the military.

“As the first priority, I said we would build an ammunition production plant, produce up-to-date weapons, including for airborne assault troops, and launch a program of construction of 184 dormitories for 23 thousand contractors . And today, the first line is put into operation. I hope that most of you will have an opportunity to settle in comfortable rooms,” Petro Poroshenko said.

“I wish happiness and pride for Ukraine to reign here. Great patriotism is a hallmark of the assault troops,” he added.

Petro Poroshenko thanked the military for their service and wished them a peaceful sky. At the same time, he stressed that peace should be based on the national interests of the state. “The Ukrainian soldiers, the Ukrainian President and the Ukrainian people have never and will never kneel down before anyone. And our army gives me a firm conviction that we will eventually gain victory thanks to such warriors as you,” the President noted.

The President emphasized that the implementation of the housing program, the reform of the military food system and many other changes in the Armed Forces became possible due to the efforts of the Minister of Defense, the leadership of the General Staff and the team of volunteers.
