I hope we will finally get to meaningful discussions about the future of Ukraine – President on the debate with candidate Zelensky

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko hopes that next week both he and presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky will finally have an opportunity to inform the public of their programs, plans and clear directions in the development of the state. It was stated by Petro Poroshenko during the live broadcast on Inter TV channel in the framework of the working visit to France.

Answering the question, whether the next week will be less emotional and more informative, the Head of State remarked: “Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. Indeed, in the discussions about the form, the content is lost. I am really hopeful hope that my opponent will hear me that we will finally get to meaningful discussions, that we will eventually be able to inform the society of the programs, plans, clear directions in the development of the state, the vision of the future of Ukraine and Ukrainians”.

“And to provide the possibility of comprehensive information for the choice of Ukrainians to be conscious, so that no one tries to sell Ukraine a pig in a poke,” Petro Poroshenko added.

The President is confident that the debate must take place in the studio of the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine on April 19, as stipulated by the law, at 20:00 and on April 14 at Olimpiyskyi stadium. “Once again I want to repeat the invitation to Mr. Zelensky. Let it be stadium. Do not hide, do not be afraid, come and tell everything you have,” the President emphasized.

“What do I expect next week? I expect a wise and responsible choice of the Ukrainian people. And I expect the victory of Petro Poroshenko. It will immediately create absolutely clear positions on our movement, rapid achievements in the struggle against poverty, in peace building, and in relation to the European vector of development of the best state of the world Ukraine,” the President stressed.
