Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Angela Merkel discussed ways to release Ukrainian sailors and other captives

During an official visit to Germany, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel discussed ways to release Ukrainian sailors and other Ukrainians in Russian captivity.

“We have discussed an acute issue of the release of our military sailors and other Ukrainians in Russian prisons. The authority and international influence of Germany brings hope for a prompt solution to this issue,” the President said during a briefing with Angela Merkel in Berlin.

The Head of State also noted that an exchange of views had been held on the coordination of joint actions and cooperation between Ukraine and Germany in the framework of the United Nations and other international organizations.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is hopeful that Germany will support the European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Ukraine.
