Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Prosecutor General’s Office to return the National Guard warrior Vitaliy Markiv to Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy commissioned the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Prosecutor General’s Office to immediately take up the issue of the return of the National Guard warrior Vitaliy Markiv who was sentenced to 24 years in prison for the alleged involvement in the murder of an Italian photojournalist Andrea Rockelli in Donbas in 2014.

“I ask you to forget about the political differences between the new government and the unchanged heads of these departments and make every effort to return former warrior of the Kulchytsky Battalion of the National Guard Vitaliy Markiv. Until then, I commission the Ukrainian diplomats in Italy to constantly stay in touch with our veteran,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
