President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stresses that he has never claimed that presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky is a drug addict. The Head of State told that during the program “Freedom of Speech” on ICTV channel.

“First of all, I want to emphasize, I do not claim that Volodymyr Zelensky is a drug addict. I do not claim and did not claim, because I have no grounds for that,” Petro Poroshenko said.

“I emphasize the right of citizens of Ukraine to have a 100% guarantee that the future President and the future Supreme Commander-in-Chief will not be a drug addict,” the President said.

Petro Poroshenko clearly knows what functions and decisions the President has to make. Including in relation to the use of the Armed Forces, granting permits for missile launches, signing of international obligations on behalf of Ukraine. “Imagine that such documents will be signed in a state of a drug trip,” Petro Poroshenko said.

The Head of State remarked that he was surprised to hear Volodymyr Zelensky’s proposal to undergo tests for alcohol and drug use. “I was a bit surprised, because this is a fake of Russian propaganda that Poroshenko is an alcohol addict,” he added.

The President reminded that the necessary research was carried out and the results were announced immediately.

Petro Poroshenko also confirmed his readiness to undergo the research again at the World Anti-Doping Agency, as proposed by Volodymyr Klitschko. He also called on Volodymyr Zelensky to pass the appropriate test: “Volodymyr, I strongly advise you – do not pull the wool over the eyes, do not be afraid, do not hide. This is the burden of a public person, that’s not to mention President: you must be public… the society has the right to know everything about you”.

“But when you hide, when you do not give an opportunity to do this, there is a reasonable suspicion,” Petro Poroshenko said.
