Turkey lifts COVID-19 intercity travel restrictions
As of June 1, the government will lift current intercity travel restrictions for the last remaining 15 provinces, including Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, Patronlar Dünyası said.
Turkish Interior Ministry said in a circular sent to the country’s governorates that intercity travel restrictions brought in to contain the spread of COVID-19 would be lifted as of midnight on Sunday, Patronlar Dünyası reported.
A special permit by the governorates had been required for intercity travel to Turkey’s worst-affected 31 provinces to stem the spread of the coronavirus since late March and later the authorities lifted the restrictions partially.

Turkey has begun to ease restrictions taken against the coronavirus pandemic amid a drop in the number of reported daily COVID-19 deaths and infections in recent weeks, although some experts say the lifting of restrictions may be premature.
