President awarded paratroopers on the frontline

“For me, the 79th brigade is a symbol of honor and courage of Ukrainian paratroopers,” the President noted.

At the fortified tactical locality of the 79th separate assault brigade in Pryazovia, the President presented state awards to servicemen for courage and heroism demonstrated in countering Russian aggression and protection of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“For me, the 79th brigade is a symbol of honor and courage of Ukrainian paratroopers,” the President noted and recalled his meetings on the frontline with the warriors of this glorious unit.

“In five years, we have created a real army, which any country in Europe and the world can be proud of. It is considered one of the strongest armies in the continent,” Petro Poroshenko said, adding that it was a result of joint efforts.

Commander of the Joint Forces Operation General Serhiy Nayev informed the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the operational and tactical situation at the front. He noted that the situation on the touch line remained turbulent, the enemy continued provocative shelling, but our soldiers acted accordingly.

“The shelling of your positions yesterday and today’s use of AT missile system is a vivid testimony that there is a hot war. And Ukrainian heroes are fighting for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine here,” the President emphasized. “I am here today to express my respect to you,” he added.
