Volodymyr Zelenskyy: The task of the Supreme Anticorruption Court is simple: the corrupt official is punished while the state, society and investor are protected

The President also called it symbolic that the Court’s building is located on Peremohy Avenue in Kyiv.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stresses that the task of the Supreme Anticorruption Court of Ukraine launched today is not just to punish corrupt officials, but to restore trust of citizens.

“You are aware of the expectations of citizens and society from your work better than me. A really big challenge for you today. And it is not just the return of the stolen to the citizens by punishing the top corrupt officials, it is the return of the feeling and belief that there is justice in Ukraine,” the Head of State said during a speech on the occasion of the launch of the Supreme Anticorruption Court of Ukraine.

He noted that as a citizen of Ukraine, he wanted the corrupt officials to be punished and the interests of the state, society and investors to be protected.

“I cannot set you a task. As a citizen, I feel that the task of the Supreme Anticorruption Court is very simple: the corrupt official is punished while the state, society and investor are protected,” the President added.

Congratulating the attendees on the launch of the Court, Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted that the Court’s premises had been renovated and refurbished in just a month. He thanked everyone involved in the launch of the Supreme Anticorruption Court of Ukraine.

The President also called it symbolic that the Court’s building is located on Peremohy Avenue in Kyiv. He is hopeful it will also inspire victory over corruption in Ukraine.

“We have said during the election campaign that we wanted to overcome corruption. Not to fight it, but to overcome. And I think it’s very symbolic that the Supreme Anticorruption Court is located on Peremohy Avenue. I wish you, all of us, Ukrainians, victory,” the Head of State summarized.
