President of Ukraine during a meeting with the President of Azerbaijan: Our relations should reach a new level
According to Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan is ranked 27th in the world in terms of quality of roads.
During an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The Heads of State emphasized the increase in trade between the countries, which amounted to about $ 900 million last year, mutual interest in expanding cooperation in the energy, transport and agricultural sectors, intensification of mutual investment.
“Our relations must reach a new level. We need to increase the trade turnover and the presence of Ukrainian business in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani business in Ukraine,” the President said during the negotiations between the delegations of Ukraine and Azerbaijan in Baku.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that large-scale privatization started in Ukraine and that large concessionary infrastructure projects could be created.
“We have agreed with Mr. President that at the beginning of next year we will definitely create not just a working group, but a real team of people who will come on behalf of the President of Azerbaijan to Ukraine and take a substantive look at all those objects, opportunities, enterprises on which we can work together,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
The heads of state paid special attention to the development of tourist flows that will contribute to the economic growth of both countries.
“I know that Azerbaijanis love our Truskavets, visit the capital. However, we still have many amazing places. For example, the beaches of Odesa. Odesa has all conditions for beach vacation. To this end, we invite investors to improve the local infrastructure,” the President said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine had big road construction plans and that Ukrainians needed high-quality logistics. He invited Azerbaijani companies to invest in the development of high-quality road infrastructure in Ukraine.
