AI Germany says Turkey, Russia violating human rights declaration: report

Amnesty International (AI) Germany’s secretary-general criticized Turkey and Russia in particular for violating the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on the anniversary of the adoption of the document by the United Nations General Assembly.

Markus Beeko told German news agency DPA that Turkey and Russia have ignored the human rights declaration in their attacks on human rights.

He also criticized US President Donald Trump for separating refugee children from their families and questioning the intolerance of torture.

The United Nations General Assembly recognized the declaration on Dec. 10, 1948.
