President Petro Poroshenko is confident that it is only when a person sincerely believes in his work that his dream will come true and the goal will be achieved.

The Head of State noted that many of his initiatives had been called dreams and people hadn’t believed in their realization. But despite this, all the plans came true.

“You may say that the President is a dreamer. This is not the first time for me. They told that I dreamed of the Association Agreement. Then they told that I dreamed of the DCFTA. Then I dreamed of a strong army that we would create in an extremely short time. Then I dreamed and nobody believed in the visa-free regime. Then I dreamed and nobody believed in the independence and autocephaly of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church,” Petro Poroshenko noted in a meeting of the Regional Development Council in Kirovograd region.

According to the President, his another dream is our country’s accession to the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance. And to achieve this, the first steps have already been taken, he stressed.

“I am a dreamer. I dreamed that Ukraine would be a member of the EU and a NATO member. And today, I thank the people’s deputies who supported the President’s bill on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine. A few days ago, in the presence of President of the European Council Donald Tusk, I signed these amendments to the Constitution,” the Head of State said.

“I am a dreamer. It is only when we unite, when we believe in a great purpose that we will definitely achieve these goals. Ukraine will be a country of prosperous, happy and free people,” Petro Poroshenko is confident.

The Head of State added that decentralization had become a way to changes in the state, as it had allowed to transfer powers and resources along with responsibility for community life directly to communities. According to him, nowadays the united communities already have new roads, street lighting, kindergartens, schools, outpatient clinics and many other things that change the appearance of our cities and villages and people’s lives.

Petro Poroshenko said it was his development plan: “This is a program of development that we can achieve when we are united and when we are together”.

The President stressed that the united territorial communities should have a clear road construction program, water supply problem should be solved, quality connection to the power grid should be ensured. In addition, people should receive high-quality medical services, have an opportunity to teach children in a new Ukrainian school and receive high-quality administrative services. Communities should also have a tourism development plan.
