President insists on insuring all health workers on the frontline and supports the idea of involving volunteers during the quarantine exit

In Ukraine, in the last 24 hours, the number of those who recovered from the coronavirus infection COVID-19 exceeded the number of those who got infected: 341 and 339 people, respectively. This minimal advantage and the reduction in the number of patients, even with increasing testing, indicate a positive trend on the track of overcoming the epidemic, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a traditional meeting with representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers and key government agencies responsible for preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal spoke about the innovation of the Italian Republic in attracting volunteers to help in compliance with security measures.

“It’s a very good idea. I support its implementation in Ukraine. Volunteers could remind people of the need for social distance, wearing masks. Thus, during the quarantine exit, we would remember that the threat still exists and safety rules must be followed,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The President also raised the issue of insurance for doctors who are combating coronavirus infection.

“We talked about a good example of the Luhansk regional state administration, which insured all health workers who work on the frontline. I have already stressed that this must be implemented throughout Ukraine. Please, gather all the documents that will make it clear when our doctors will be insured,” the President addressed Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Chernyshov.
