President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker

The parties expressed their interest in holding the 21st EU-Ukraine Summit in Kyiv on July 8 this year.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker in the framework of the working visit to the EU and NATO institutions on June 4.

The negotiations on a wide range of issues of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union confirmed willingness of the parties to further develop cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

The President of Ukraine underscored the immutable priorities set in the Constitution of Ukraine, first of all, the strategic course of the state on acquiring full membership in the EU and NATO, as well as Ukraine’s willingness to adhere to its obligations, in particular in relations with international financial institutions.

The Head of State thanked the European side for the continued support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the special role played by the European Union in restraining the Russian aggression against Ukraine, overcoming its consequences, resolving social, humanitarian and other problems caused by it.

“Our goal remains unchanged – liberation of Donbas exclusively by political and diplomatic means,” the President of Ukraine said, noting the importance of continuing and strengthening the EU sanctions policy with regard to the Russian Federation.

In his turn, the President of the European Commission assured that the EU fully supported Ukraine in implementing its European integration choice on the path of democratic and market transformations.
