Klitschko takes part in International Mayor Conference in Israel: Kyiv implements cutting edge Smart City innovations

The mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko participates in the 33rd International Mayors Conference which is being held in Israel. The event brings together mayors of cities from all over the world, to discuss and share the best expertise how to implement Smart City innovations into municipal governance and improve the security of cities.

“From what I have heard at the discussions and presentations, I am pleased to emphasize that today Kyiv implements the latest Smart City innovations,” he said. “Many Smart projects have already been successfully introduced in Kyiv: Open Budget, municipal fleet dispatch control, contactless card payments in the Kyiv metro system, an electronic ticket which is currently under testing – to name but a few. By the way, Kyiv has introduced Safe City project four years ago, based on the proven technology that operates so efficiently here, in Israel. During the conference I took an interest in some innovations that might be used for further development of Ukraine’s capital city,” stressed Klitschko.

Kyiv mayor also attended the Center for Israeli Innovations in Tel Aviv where Israeli start-ups develop groundbreaking innovations.

Vitali Klitschko, who chairs the Association of Ukrainian Cities will participate in the Israeli-Ukrainian Muni 2019 Summit. Mayors and delegations from other Ukrainian cities-members of the Association, including Kharkiv, Dnipro, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Vinnytsa, Mariupil, Obukhov and Vyshneve will be in attendance as well. In particular, Kyiv mayor will attend and speak in the panel discussion ‘How to leverage and aggregate all information existing in the public arena in order to maximize urban security’.

At the Summit the Association of Ukrainian Cities will sign Memorandums on Cooperation with the Union of Local Authorities in Israel and with the Chamber of Commerce Israel-Ukraine.
