President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the Minister of Defense to resolve the issue of raising the amount of financial support for the servicemen of the mountain assault units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He said this during a working visit to Zakarpattia region.

“Today, when the 128th brigade returns to Zakarpattia at its home station, I instruct Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak present here to raise the money supply for the mountain assault fighters and equate them with the fighters of the units of the airborne assault troops. To raise the money supply by 23%,” the Head of State noted at the solemn events on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the proclamation of Carpatho-Ukraine and the battle of the Krasne Pole. “This is a real elite of the Ukrainian army,” the President added.

“Today, our servicemen of the 128th and the 10th mountain assault brigades are fighting at the highest level,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.

The Supreme Commander-in-Chief also ordered to take measures to improve the infrastructure of permanent military camps and build new modern housing for the servicemen of the mountain assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also proposed to involve the forces and means of the State Special Transport Service for that. He instructed the minister to sign the relevant orders.

The President stressed that a powerful foundation for a great future of Ukraine was laid in five years of war.

“The future for which the fighters for freedom of our state gave their lives. The Army, the Association Agreement and the Free Trade Area with the EU, the restored economic growth, the strengthening of the positions of our state language, the Tomos, the decentralization are now a solid foundation for our statehood. Both the Russian aggressor and, unfortunately, the irresponsible Ukrainian politicians within our state have been trying to test this foundation to the limit for the last five years. But it withstood,” the Head of State remarked. According to him, now there is every reason to assert that Ukraine has a chance to become a great power – a country of free, happy and prosperous people.

Petro Poroshenko stressed that these steps were made due to the unity of Ukrainians. “Unfortunately, there are politicians who in the struggle for power forget about the deadly danger, which did not disappear. They repeat the mistakes of our history that undermine our unity,” the President noted.

“I am grateful to Zakarpattia for the strong support of the Ukrainian Army! I am grateful to all volunteers, soldiers – to all who defended your beautiful land and the entire Ukraine from the enemy,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.
