During the presentation of the construction project of the Syretsko-Pecherska line of the Kyiv subway from the station “Syrets” to the neighborhood of Vynohradar, President Petro Poroshenko assured of his support for the infrastructure projects, in particular the construction of new underground stations.

At the same time, he stressed the importance of Ukraine’s accession to the North Atlantic Alliance, which will release a significant part of the security and defense sector resources for local development budgets.

“Today, local budgets exceed the state budget. This is not the ultimate goal. We will continue to increase the share of local budgets. The only thing that prevents us from doing so today is the war and the need to fully finance the defense and security expenditures,” the President said.

Petro Poroshenko assured the community of Kyiv and the mayor that he would support the equalization of the personal income tax rate in the capital with other cities of Ukraine in case of ensuring security guarantees that would become possible after Ukraine’s accession to NATO.

“As soon as there is progress in NATO membership, where the principle “one for all and all for one” works and all 30 members help us defend the Ukrainian land, we will release part of our defense and security funds to local self-government, to decentralization,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.
