During the Regional Development Council in Chernivtsi region, President Petro Poroshenko emphasized the priority of supporting the Ukrainian army and thanked the community of Bukovina for the support of the heroic Ukrainian troops.

“Both ancient and new history teach us that in order to survive with Russia as a neighbor, Ukraine must have a strong army. The army, not the memorandums, is the guarantor of sovereignty, territorial integrity and security of every citizen and of the whole state. Therefore, the army and the security sector were and remain the priority for me,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.

“I’m grateful to the region, to the communities of Bukovina for the support of our soldiers,” the Head of State noted.

The President stressed that “in an unbelievably short time we have restored the army, because we have never had such an army before”.

“We have created it because there was nothing to restore. It is more correct to say that we have created it not even from scratch, but from the “minus” – the army and the entire security sector that was looted and full of Russian agents. And now, thanks to our efforts, the Ukrainian army is one of the 10 best and most powerful armies in Europe. Our allies learn the experience of the Ukrainian army in the hybrid war,” Petro Poroshenko said.
