Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed further cooperation and reforms in Ukraine with IMF representatives

The parties also addressed the issue of further energy sector reforms and the situation with PrivatBank.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Assistant Director at the International Monetary Fund European Department Julie Kozack and Head of the IMF Mission to Ukraine Ron van Rooden.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the IMF program of support to the ambitious agenda of reforms in Ukraine implemented by the President of Ukraine and the Ukrainian government and aimed at maintaining macroeconomic stability and economic growth.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that the newly elected Verkhovna Rada had adopted a series of laws aimed at reforming the financial sector, economic de-shadowing and real fight against corruption in less than a month.

“I assure you of full support for structural reforms in the economy, independence of the National Bank and comprehensive investigation into abuses in the banking sector,” the President said.

The parties also addressed the issue of further energy sector reforms and the situation with PrivatBank.

The President noted that further cooperation with the International Monetary Fund was an important element of increasing confidence of foreign investors and international partners in Ukraine.

The meeting was also attended by Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk and Minister of Finance Oksana Markarova.
