We highly appreciate that the Ukrainian-Belarusian border remains the border of peace and cooperation – Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Belarus remains a reliable partner for Ukraine helping bring peace to the Ukrainian territory, and the Ukrainian-Belarusian border is the border of peace and cooperation. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the final part of the Second Forum of the Regions of Ukraine and Belarus in Zhytomyr.

“Our cooperation was, is and will always be consistent and constructive. This is what it should be between friend and closest neighbors,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted in his speech.

The Head of State thanked President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko for a meaningful and frank conversation, which has once again showed that there were no closed topics for discussion.

“We thank Belarus and Mr. President personally for the fact that in the context of the Russian aggression against our country, the Ukrainian-Belarusian border remains the border of peace and cooperation. We appreciate it. As well as the fact that Belarus provides a platform for negotiations of the Trilateral Contact Group on the situation in our Ukrainian Donbas,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.

“It is great that Belarus remains a reliable partner for Ukraine helping achieve peace in our country’s territory. Territory within the borders recognized by the world community, where Crimea and Donbas are and will always be Ukraine,” he added.

The Head of State stands for holding such a Ukrainian-Belarusian forum on a regular basis in order to strengthen the partnership between the two countries in all spheres – not only at the level of two capitals, but also at the level of regions and individual enterprises.

The President greeted all participants of the Second Forum of the Regions of Ukraine and Belarus and thanked the organizers for the fact that, despite the reboot of authorities in Ukraine, this “significant event in the relations between the two states” took place.
