President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated the importance of the support of Ukraine by the Republic of Estonia and expressed gratitude to the Estonian partners for their willingness to share their successful experience of reforms.
“Humanitarian, financial, technical and military assistance from Estonia is very important for Ukraine. Your country is a world leader in terms of such assistance per capita. We are grateful for the rehabilitation of 182 Ukrainian military in medical institutions of Estonia. This is a very valuable support,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a joint press conference with President of the Republic of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid in Tallinn.
In particular, the Head of State noted Estonia’s practical assistance in reforming Ukraine’s security and defense sector in accordance with NATO standards. “We are grateful to our Estonian partners for their willingness to share their successful experience of reforms that will improve Ukraine,” he stressed.
The President said that the parties had also discussed the interaction between the two countries in the field of digitization and cybersecurity, where Estonia was a recognized leader. He is hopeful that the Ukrainian-Estonian Digital Forum will yield concrete practical results.
For her part, Kersti Kaljulaid noted that Estonia helped Ukraine increase the administrative capacity of its anticorruption institutions, implement e-governance and cyber security, as well as cooperated with Ukraine in the defense sector.
“All this helps Ukraine advance on the path of reform. A prerequisite for this is the successful fight against corruption. And I am very pleased that the fight against corruption is one of the top priorities for both the government and the President of Ukraine,” Kersti Kaljulaid said.
