One of the tasks of the Ukrainian authorities is the reduction in the percentage of expenditure that Ukrainian families spend on the payment for communal services, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

“The IMF requires market prices (for gas for the population. – Ed.). This is an increase in tariffs for our country. But, you know, we have been reducing them since the summer. That is our task. We agreed with the IMF and our government that if we open the market and if we have market prices, the percentage of utility tariffs on family income should be reduced. And we can guarantee this to people,” the Head of State said during a press marathon.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the subsistence minimum should increase in 2020.

“People will never pay 50-80% of their income or family income for communal services. We are working on some things to reduce tariffs,” the President stressed.
