President presented the awards of Ukrainian seamen captured by Russia to their relatives in Odesa

During the working trip to Odesa region, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko presented the awards of Ukrainian seamen – prisoners of war captured by the Russian Federation to their relatives. The President awarded 22 Ukrainian heroes.

The Head of State informed that taking into account courage and heroism of the Ukrainian military sailors captured by the Russian Federation, he had decided to award them.

“They have proved themselves to be true knights, true warriors, true patriots and true professionals. The Ukrainian state honors its courageous defenders, their loyalty to the oath and patriotism,” he stressed.

“I hand over these awards to their families, who brought up the best features of character in them. With all my heart, I wish your sons, brothers, men to return home as soon as possible. For this is the most important not only for you, but also for me as President and for every true Ukrainian who do everything they can for this day to come as soon as possible,” the Head of State added.
