Cherkasy region must get rid of the notorious fame of a testing ground for cars – President on the priority of road repair
Petro Poroshenko noted that the Kamianka UTC has already attracted a Norwegian investor for the construction of a 25 MW solar power plant.
«The map of the achievements in Cherkasy region is diverse and extremely interesting. It makes up a picture of constant positive changes,” President Petro Poroshenko said in a meeting of the Cherkasy Regional Development Council. He added that despite many tangible changes, much remains to be done, including the repair of roads in the area.
According to him, territorial communities already clearly see how to develop their region. He noted that in the beginning there were problems with decentralization, but the communities overcame them.
According to the President, every UTC must have high-quality roads. “The repair of strategically important road M-12 Stryi – Ternopil – Kirovohrad – Znamianka has begun in the region, the reconstruction of bridges is underway. I have set very ambitious goals for 2019. The State Fund for Regional Development has the same priorities. I emphasize that this is only the beginning,” the President said.
“The region finally has to get rid of the notorious fame of a testing ground for cars. The reconstruction of the highway of national significance H-16 Zolotonosha – Cherkasy – Smila – Uman is a priority for the region,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.
He noted that the Kamianka UTC has already attracted a Norwegian investor for the construction of a 25 MW solar power plant.
In addition, he added that Uman has a unique tourist opportunity: “Even with the current infrastructure, the annual Hasidic pilgrimage provides revenues for thousands of people”.
